How many times have haters seen something come off the runway scoffing, and then 24 months later it's later favorite item of clothing? Too many times to count! The next time you hold yourself back from wearing something out of the ordinary. Remember that being extraordinary is imperative trend-setting.

FASHION TAPE | Masha Lopatova
We are seeing a lot of sheer tops,
deep V necks, and even semi-open blouses on the runways and on the streets.
It's a complicated business to wear something like this tastefully. The first
rule is to downplay other areas... For example, when wearing a deep V it looks
more elegant if there isn't too much other skin showing, so longer sleeves can be really helpful for this. Another thing is tape, not just any tape of course… fashion tape. If you have a deep V neck or even a blouse that is open, you can
use fashion tape to secure the fabric to your skin to keep it from flapping
open. The great thing about fashion tape is it can help secure clothing in
other ways, to create a shape that is flattering for each woman's physique.

Wide Leg Pants
Wide leg pants are one of my favorite looks to wear lately. A word of advice for all the woman that are short like me... always wear them with high heeled boots, shoes, or for the most comfort, wedges. It will look great and add an elongated look to your legs.

Dress Comfortably
Never underestimate the importance of dressing comfortably. I have always believed adamantly that anything that touches my skin must feel amazing. I don't care how beautiful it is, if it makes me feel uncomfortable I imagine I must look uncomfortable. And there is nothing more unattractive, in my opinion, than looking miserable.
Yes, I do have 4 inch heels, and I love them! (4-5 inch heel tip: as long as it supports the arch, it's usually pretty comfy if you're used to it) There is an added benefit to the heels too... I feel lovely when I wear them, and that is just as important ;)

The White Ensemble
My in-house photographer for Fashion IQ, Egor Tsodov, took this shot of me while we were working on a project on the west coast. One of my favorite looks trending these days is the head-to-toe white ensemble. It's clean looking and totally elegant.

The Desert as a Back Drop
The desert is beautiful in a unique sort of way. I guess that is why over the years I've often staged fashion shoots in these semi-barren landscapes. There is so much open space and there is a visual emotion to the subdued hues of the desert. The photos end up feeling a lot like a dream.
